This is an unusual story of a 35 year old who gave up a corporate career with a global consultancy to GoCoop. This is Siva Devireddy's GoCoop. 35 year old Siva Devireddy didn't think he would be an advocate to the cooperative business model. An industrial and management systems engineer, Siva was the director of the innovation center for Accenture India and was living the corporate life. But he had an epiphany and decided to put his skills to better use. Having spent his formative years in Andhra Pradesh Siva had observed the operations of several self-help groups and weaver cooperatives. He noticed how the lack of marketing got in the way of them scaling up. So, for three years he researched the working of cooperatives and with the guidance from the Regional Institute of Cooperative Management in Bangalore he started GoCoop in 2011. A cloud based global collaboration platform for cooperatives, GoCoop has had a strong start. |
